This July I went back to the community in Mexico. Every year they look forward to the charity of Healthy Teeth, which brings some help, care and Love.

Father Gregory Woodward, Father Pablo and the Church of Immaculate Conception help me to arrange every service. This year 58 people received reading glasses. 150 receive their Dental Care. 5 families received a grocery bag.

Reading glasses are in high demand here and so are sunglasses. The daily Sun is very bright and is hard on their eyes. Dr. Fanny Guadalupe Chan she helped this year again. She does work in Cancun which really helps to follow other treatments people need during the mission like crowns, root canals, and dentures. This year I had 2 dental students who will be dentists next year.

Brandon Miguel Barcenas and Danna Adrian, it was very nice of both of them to contribute with excellent skills. We saw children that needed to have extractions on baby teeth. They did very well during the procedure and they kept their teeth in a cute mouse container to take home.

Members of the church also benefit from the dental service and the community. I visited 5 families with Carina Góngora who coordinates with families every year who need our help. They are facing difficult moments in their lives.

I was very touched by a family who lost their Daughter a few weeks before  I arrived. she was 15 years old. Her mother is blind and dealing with Diabetes. She is confined to a wheelchair and has one remaining daughter and her grandson who is 2 years old and they live together in a very difficult place very hot and not enough ventilation.

Her daughter had a swollen face and she was in a lot of pain. I found she had a bad infection and sadly we can’t save her tooth. After the tooth was removed, she started feeling better.

In another family, there is a grandmother who is suffering because her granddaughter has cancer and she is in the hospital. Her biological mother abandoned her mom and her daughter. The grandmother has been raising the daughter by herself. I hope that visiting these families brings them consolation in these difficult times. We pray for them and bring meals.

The weather didn’t cooperate during the trip. It was very hot, but when I see the need it keeps me going back every year. It was a good mission, having another folding dental chair helps us see more people.

Thank you so much to the sponsors who helped me to achieve this mission.

Many Blessings to all.
